Sanitary facilities calculator

Choose the kind of building and enter the number of people, with a male and female split or the 50/50 default. The calculator lists the closet pans, urinals, washbasins and accessible facilities the F4D4 tables require, and checks what the drawings provide when you enter it.

What it checks

The same engine as the calculator in AEC Assistant, with every table checked against NCC 2025 or the Standard it calls up. The same inputs always give the same result.

Questions

How many toilets does an office need?

The F4D4 tables set the number of pans, urinals and basins by the number of people of each sex, in bands. The calculator reads the band for your numbers, applies the one-basin rule in F4D4(11), and shows the ambulant and accessible compartments F4D5 and F4D6 call for beside the result.

Can I use a 50/50 split?

Yes. Where the split between male and female is not known, the calculator assumes equal numbers. You can enter the real split instead, and at 10 people or fewer F4D4(3) allows a single unisex facility.
