Hi and welcome to the very first post of the AEC Assistant blog! We’re thrilled to have you join us on this journey as we share industry insights, updates about our platform, and the latest news in the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) sectors across Australia.

Andrew Galea – Co-Founder
With over ten years of experience in the architecture field and currently undergoing his architectural registration, Andrew brings a unique blend of creative design expertise and technical acumen to AEC Assistant. His strong background in Information Technology is pivotal in leveraging cutting-edge technology to solve real-world problems within the AEC industry. Andrew’s dedication to innovation ensures that AEC Assistant remains at the forefront of the market, providing intelligent solutions tailored to the specific needs of Australian AEC professionals.
Matthew Secatore – Co-Founder
Matthew boasts over a decade of extensive experience in the Australian construction industry as a registered Architect. Throughout his career, he has worn many hats—from Architectural Design to Project Management to Development Management. Matthew’s broad knowledge and expansive network have been instrumental in shaping the vision and functionality of AEC Assistant. His hands-on experience across various facets of the AEC sector ensures that our platform addresses the real challenges faced by professionals today, fostering efficiency and compliance in every project.
Why We Started AEC Assistant
After spending over ten years in the AEC industry, we—Andrew and Matthew—observed a recurring challenge that many professionals face: finding reliable and comprehensive information is always a struggle. Whether it’s navigating complex compliance standards, staying updated with the latest regulations, or accessing educational resources, the information was scattered across various platforms and sources, making it difficult to manage effectively.
The Challenge: Information Silos in the AEC Industry
In our roles within the AEC sector, we often found ourselves spending countless hours searching for specific standards, guidelines, and best practices. The lack of a centralised repository meant that valuable time was lost in hunting down information, leading to inefficiencies and, sometimes, compliance issues. This fragmented landscape not only hindered productivity but also made continuous professional development a daunting task.
Our Solution: A Centralised AI-Powered Knowledge Platform
Determined to address this gap, we envisioned a platform that could centralise all essential AEC information, making it easily accessible to professionals across Australia. Thus, AEC Assistant was born. Our goal was to create an AI-driven knowledge hub that not only consolidates construction standards and guidelines but also offers tailored educational resources and intelligent tools to enhance project management and compliance.
